# PR_GetLayersIdentity

Gets the unique identity for the layer of the specified file descriptor.

### Parameter

The function has the following parameter:

`fd`

: A pointer to a file descriptor.

### Returns

If successful, the function returns the {ref}`PRDescIdentity` for the layer
of the specified file descriptor.
